SOPPY SUNDAY

It’s such an early start on these cold mornings…

2. We’re not getting up early for anyone…not even Munguin.

3. Sad news. Cindy the baboon has died peacefully at home with her family at the age of 32, more than twice the age that baboons typically live.

4. Young Cindy.

5. Japan certainly knows how to put on a nature show.

6. I’d like to come and live at Munguin Towers.

7. Yes, you can come and be my flatmate.

8. Hello there. My name is Hawkeye. I’m a rooster. What are you?

9. I got a lovely smelling bed.

10. Red sprites are mass electrical discharges that flash high above the intense, active thunderstorms. (Supplied: Danny Welgama)

11. Interesting stuff about Robins.

12. I’m a star… ling!

13. Researching a rare cod (with video).

14. I’m called Patrick, but you can Pat me! (That was horsey humour!)

15. Some people say I have a stern face.

16. Oh, do hurry up, slow coach human.

17. Do you like my little one… well, I guess to you he’s a big one?

18. My brother was there last year.

19. My name is Ginger Snap, I can’t work out why…

20. That’s your lot for this week. Be sure to leave a tip for the staff on your way out.

Thanks to Quokka.

RANDOM THOUGHTS

Following in the footsteps of the MAGA crowd

The hard right Fascist lot in the UK seem to be starting a christian church. Tommy Two Names’ “Christian movement” is a recent political-religious phenomenon where he and his followers use Christian identity and symbols, particularly Christian Nationalism, to rally against perceived threats to British culture, especially Islam.

Apparently he was converted to the faith (or so he says) on his most recent spell in prison.

This is reminiscent in many ways of the MAGA movement in America. In fact it seems to me to be a direct copy of it.

It’s not my place to criticise people’s religious beliefs and I’m certainly no expert, having no belief myself and relying only on what I was force fed at school, but I do find it hard to understand how extreme right politics (or for that matter, extreme left politics) can claim to be christian in nature.

For example, the far right, whether in the USA or in the UK, abhors immigrants, so maybe Stephen Tommy Yaxley Lennon Robertson would like to clarify how he feels about these verses from the Bible…

And it is not only in the Old Testament that you find these views, Jesus himself taught compassion and justice to foreigners, strangers and vulnerable people.

The Parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke Ch 10) tells of a Jewish man robbed and beaten, ignored by a priest and a Levite, but compassionately helped by a Samaritan, a foreigner, who not only bandaged him and cared for his wounds, but also took him to an inn and paid for his care there.

Jesus urged his followers to do the same sort of thing…

So, Tommy, what’s your view of that?

I imagine though, that AI does have a significant effect on unemployment!

And then they made me a Lord and then I defected to Reform Limited, because I might make some money out of that

Well, now we know where he got his hairstyle

And honestly no, that’s not him being a drag queen.

Duh, Dumbo

So your followers ARE Nazis?

Their parents, grandparents and family members may have died fighting this… so, not sure what conclusion to draw from that. But it seems to me that you are proud of it.

I hope, for all Munguinites, that 2026 will bring happiness and good health.

Oh, and you might want to make a note and plan something else for 9am…anything else would be preferable…

Honest, mate, if I wanted to hear a load of hate being spewed, I’m sure there are places I could choose where I could avoid your face, that irritating voice… and the image that won’t leave me now every time your name comes up…
