Reminds me of my son at 6/7 years old, who got his sister’s record player to add to his cassette player. One day I went into his room to find him and his pal looking rather confused after their record had ended. He looked up and said “Dad, how do you rewind a record ?”

I had a wonderful conversation with my grandsons about black discs and cassette tapes. They are like papyrus scrolls to them.

Last week I wanted to connect my computer to an external monitor or TV. So I went out for an HDMI to HDMI cable. The PC World website had them for a few pounds. In the store, the only HDMI to HDMI cables on display included Ethernet and were very expensive.
WTF is HDMI with Ethernet?

It allows for bidirectional communications between the two things which are connected. I have no idea why that would be useful.
One thing to bear in mind about cables is that expensive ones are a complete waste of time. When you have digital signals, there’s no such thing as a better ‘0’ or ‘1’.

As Scott says on the video, do some research yourselves instead of watching junk TV, I have been trying to wake you up gently for years but to no avail. We are now well and truly in the end game and you are seemingly all still comatose. For what its worth so are 99.9% of Australians, we have our propaganda channels too.
As far as I know the US Military are rounding up the middle and junior ranked players(Traitors) in the US. The biggies are already tried and executed, you will see this play out later in 2021. Operations are on going in Europe with militaries from 17 Countries including US Russia Australia France Germany Holland Spain Italy, notably the UK does not feature.

Wow you’re awsome to be able to determine the veracity and worth of someone’s commentary based on what they’re wearing and how they’re wearing it, without actually listening, well you’ve no idea how impressive that is. So in your opinion, I’m guessing now, you would be hanging on every word of Rees-Mogg because he is wearing a top hat and tails.

The tourists at Greenwich (assuming the default setting on their GPS receivers is the WGS84 ellipsoid) may be confused that it reads zero degrees, zero minutes, 5.3 seconds west longitude when placed on the Greenwich Prime Meridian. This puts the Prime Meridian 102 meters out in the park to the east.

Well, he really should have realised that sometimes it happens that you only get one term. Life doesn’t end there.
Look at all the things that Jimmy Carter has done since his one-term presidency.
He should have accepted the result. There’s not a single judge backed him so far, and any respectable lawyers have stopped working for him.
If he’d accepted with good grace he could have walked away head held high, but now he’s pulling the “you can’t speak to me like that. I’m the president” lark, he really has descended into farce.

Funny you should mention slide rules… for reasons mundane that I won’t bore you with, I was “in the loft” yesterday. Amongst the many artefacts I found , most out of place, all out of time, I came across no less than a dozen slide rules. Some had a wooden superstructure ( I’d hazard rosewood and mahogany) , others entirely of a hardened plastic. Some had boxes or cases, others were quite free spirits their mathematical possibilities incalculable had they but the notion, the inclination or the motivation to slip and slide through time and space. One was circular , though most were linear and either of 6″ or 12″ in length. Imperial! Proper British measurements, none of your revolutionary jacobin French rationality and their metric system . I swear upon Napiers Bones it’s a curse not a cursor that they have imposed upon the logarithm, it’s scale, it’s very function!
It’s not God or Nature’s fault. We were blessed with 4 fingers on each of 2 hands, yet we were dexterously manipulated by the opposable thumb faction, their damnable inclusiveness ( and their dark money, no doubt) to count in tens, to be denary rather than octal.

My grandfather was a great believer on the infallibility of the slide rule. He was never without one.
To me it was all a bit Paul Daniels…

My Dad still has a slide rule. I think he keeps it in a drawer somewhere.
If memory serves, I once got a lesson in how to use slide rules at school.
I think it was under the label “Algebra”, when we first encountered logarithms.
There was a book with log tables.
Not long afterwards, I went off mathemtics altogether.
