Indeed. Not just right, but consistent with it, which is more than we can say for any of the other parties. There isn’t one of them that hasn’t swithered, havered and tergiversated.

They were all so cocksure of themselves about that referendum. Remember, Cameron did absolutely NO WORK at all (and forbade the Civil Service from doing any prep) for the possibility of a leave result.
The SNP always said there was a chance that England would vote Leave and drag us with them.

Why, oh why, do people still vote for that clown, Carmichael?

LOL, who knows, Tree.
Remember they sacked the other guy, whose name escapes me, to bring him in… becasue he was “the big bruiser”!
And there he was running gtreetin’ tae the umpire, coz the wee Glasgae wifie was runnin rings aroun’ ‘im.
Then of course he thought he was getting his own back when he accused her of conspiring with the French Ambassador…
What an embarrassment he is.

I think, and I might be wrong, that the people in Shetland see Westminster as less likely to interfere with their affairs than Holyrood.
However, their support for a political party whose allegiance is to an establishment who intend to distance themselves from Europe, including Scandinavia,is bazarre.
Do they really think that the LibDums will prevent all that from happening?
Nae chans.

It’s odd, because the Scottish government has proposed developing more power to the islands in the north and west.

OMG! OMG! OMG!
Why has MNR gone black? A random WordPress outrage? A Tory attack on the opposition? Does Munguin know?
Blue and gray text rampant on a field of black might be trendy for a teenage-oriented pop culture website. But here, serious business is being conducted by serious people.
It’s readable I guess, but long term eyestrain is more problematic. And I hate internet surprises. 😉

Oh dear.
I’m sorry. Munguin told me to smartyen the blog up a bit and I thought this would be smarter.
Maybe I’m just a trendy teen at heart…?

Except that the trendy black motif is usually accompanied by unreadable text in flashing neon purple. 🙂

Same sentiments here, Danny. Thought it was maybe just my end. I’d F5 after reading the comments and all would be back to normal. No joy with that. Are we just a pair of old reactionaries and everyone else loves the new look – assuming it is deliberate?

John…….Glad to know that it’s not some dreadful computer malfunction, and I’m not the only one staring into a black abyss.
Reactionaries of any age are good to have around to fight change wherever it rears its ugly head. 😉
OH THE HUMANITY !!!!!

What a horrible bunch of reactionary old fuddy-duddies you are, you awful people! You’re forgetting that the only constant is change! You’ll be voting Tory or Republican next, washing your dishes with washing soda and taking out the central heating! Shocking!
No, I don’t like the new Abyssal Plain theme either. I like dark themes, generally, but not this one.
Tris, if this is you ringing in the changes for the New Year, sorry – I (we) liked the old one better. Mind you, WordPress defeated me entirely when I tried to prettify my own minimal WordPress thingmie that I’ve not felt up to contributing to since whenever the last time was. You have my admiration, Tris, because I don’t know how you (a) deal with the technology, and (b) keep on keeping on making the effort to post every day, though I’m sure the weekly orangutans must help.

Enjoyed your comment Ed. 🙂 Conservative old fuddy-duddy that I surely am, I do think the Republicans take reactionary politics a tad TOO far, and won’t be joining Fearless Leader and his GOP anytime soon…..LOL.
The one thing of which you can always be certain is that people who staff internet companies like WordPress are forever busy making changes in things that work just fine, declaring with much fanfare that they’ve made them better, but in fact they never are……(better.) 😉

As a good friend of mine once said, “they improved it worse”. He has a way with words, does Jimmy: another memorable quip of his was when he described his ambition in life as being able to commit suicide by jumping off his wallet.

Well, although it has still changed a little bit, it’s lost its blackness.
I was just fed up looking at it and Munguin gave permission…although with all the adverse reaction he says that he didn’t and I should lose a week’s wages!
Still…
Ed a lot of what I do is lifting pics from elsewhere and putting them in.
The REAL bloggers and people who write a whole, researched article… you know who you are.
I just mess with it.

Tris, you are far, far too modest. Much as I admire Mr. Munguin, I believe he undervalues you sumfink rotten, and I shall not hesitate to tell him so to his face next time we meet, at a royal garden party or some such.

Won’t do any good, Ed. He’s a hard animal to please.

It was *embarrassed face* deliberate, …
But seemingly unpopular.
When Munguin awakes, I shall put it too him that it is unpopular and beg his permission to change it.

I thought it was just me too. Don’t like the new look WordPress

I’m sure none of us will mind in the least if you use the heuristic method on the problem, which, as I understand it, means mess around with it until you find something you really like by a process of trial and error.

Tris……You may have retracted your decision too quickly. It is after all impossible to please everybody, and any feedback short of death threats is probably counted a success in the fractious world of media. 😉
