Lovely, life-affirming photies again as usual, Tris! Thank you.
However, “Oooops… Did someone drop a stone?” was taken, obviously, at the Rest and Be Thankful on the A83. Significantly, it is also incorrectly captioned: it should be “Anyone seen my 2-berth Lunar Clubman touring caravan?”

That first picture made me chuckle, what a cheeky wee un. That must be some magnification on the robin eggs, looks the size of the bird itself. Lovely colour too. And ellies, love an elly.
The pink house wasn’t what attracted my attention though, it was the Triffid covered house next to it 🙂
Garden news – my sad Celosia appears to have gone to the great garden in the sky. RIP

You have to admit the colour coordination is pretty spectacular.
It’s always sad when a plant dies. They become friends… And then they are gone!

Dave, I heard Joan Baez sing it in Glasgow in March 2018 – magical!

At the risk of going full Chris Packham on y’all I think think they’re the eggs of the American Robin which is a type of thrush and a lot bigger than oor wee cutie. Our Robin lays creamy red speckled eggs that are a bit smaller.

Yep… American Robins.

might have known they’d be American supersized ones.

Great pics again, Tris – ta. I thought initially that the one with the big stone must have been taken in Boulder, Colorado. Ah, La Maison Rose, in Montmartre – I had lunch there once many years ago. I even remember that I had quenelles de brochet and very nice they were too. By the way, I really like the two-heided dug 🙂

Ouch, Andi. 🙂
Montmartre has so much charm. I love wandering round there, the seedy bits and the beautiful bits. I’ve never eaten there, but it sounds good.
Two headed dogs are quite the up and coming thing!

The Elephant Hawk Moth explained.
The caterpillar resembles an elephants’ trunk.
The moth can hover when it flies – like a hawk.
I took one of the caterpillars from my cat last year. From a distance I thought she’d caught a very small mouse. Those caterpillars are huge.

Thank Brian. I had no idea why it was called that. Would love to see one.

Was about to add about the flight. The only one that I’ve seen in action is the Hummingbird Hawk Moth – in Italy – which has a long, curled proboscis that allows it to get nectar from deep-set flowers.

This is a good little article. I see what you mean about the caterpillar looking like an elephant’s trunk.
