    1. Can watch the video in Google Chrome, but not in Edge. As for its content, viewing the SNP and the YES movement as some sort of romantically doomed cause gives unionists comfort.

  1. OK……NOW some of you know what it feels like when a posting on WordPress won’t work.

Here in the land of the free and the home of the brave, I haven’t been able to get any pictures on any previous postings as soon as a new posting goes up. (Unless I use the IE Browser.) This has gone on for over a year, and I’ve just had to chalk it up to anti-Americanism by some miscreants at WordPress.

NOW, the video plays just fine for me, but not for some in Mr. Munguin’s homeland as I understand it. So I’m sympathetic of course, but it’s nice to share the WordPress misery…..LOL.

      1. In addition to not working on Firefox, it doesn’t work on Internet Explorer or Opera either…..and I can’t check Linux.

So for me, it ONLY works with Google Chrome.

  2. I oonce heard a tale, of doubtful provenance, about an Irish republican haranguing a fringe meeting at the 1968 Democratic Conference in Chicago with the assertion that Ulster Protestants were incomers who had only been there since about 1610.

This tale was repeated to me by an Uksterman so there may have been embellishments in the telling…..

  3. Great story! There was plenty of haranguing going on among many fringe groups that week of the Democrats’ infamous “nightmare in Chicago.” Lyndon Johnson’s Vietnam War raging, with the blood of young conscripts on his hands……the nominating convention rigged by Johnson and the party regulars to nominate his VP (who hadn’t even run in the primaries)…..and the young people shut out of the convention hall being bloodied by the Chicago police, who were told by the mayor of Chicago to club the protesters and start a riot. It was all on TV, and it was a red carpet laid out for Richard Nixon and the Republicans to take the White House in the 1968 election. It was the beginning of the Nixon and Reagan ascendancy of the Republican party. The Democratic Party was never really the same after the nightmare in Chicago.

  4. There’s certainly a national emergency here in the states, but it mostly has to do with the orange faced moron signing the order.

The Russians hate the Magnitsky Act as I understand it, since it’s basically a way that lets us screw them out of access to their bank accounts. It was originally passed by Congress and signed by President Obama in 2012, but was modified in 2016 to allow us to screw people in countries other than Russia. I don’t think anyone goes to Gitmo though.

As for prison sentences, I’d say it’s sort of like the left wing European peace tribunals who periodically declare the President of the United States to be a war criminal and order him to report for imprisonment at the Hague (or some other such God forsaken Scandinavian place) at his earliest opportunity. Makes the European lefties feel good, while not seriously inconveniencing any Presidents. 🙂

    1. Oh Danny, The Hague is a lovely place. In the Netherlands, so not Scandinavia. The last time I was in Amsterdam, we took the train (fantastic train by British standards … although to be fair the tram I took in Morocco, Africa was superior to the British ones).

It’s 40kms or so, so a very short and smooth journey. The palace is there (although there is one in Amsterdam too.)

We had always hope that Blair would end up there. Or in a cell just outside there. But no important murderers from a western country ever does. It’s reserved for Eastern European and African murderers.

      1. Tris…..I’m sure that The Hague is very nice, although perhaps not for the war criminals who are unfortunate in having no army to protect themselves from going there. I can never keep the countries straight in that northern part of the world. What is Scandinavia and what isn’t is an enduring mystery for me.

        1. I think technically Scandinavia is Norway, Denmark and Sweden. But it has been broadened out to include Finland and Iceland. That said, technically Faroes and Greenland are self governing parts of the Kingdom of Denmark, so they can be included too.

The Netherlands (sometimes called Holland…incorrectly) is to the south on the North Sea coast directly north of Belgium, which in turn is to the North of France.
